Have you had enough! I recall years of downloads and upgrades. Directing us to a “nirvana” of digital social connectedness. Instead, in a crisis of fear, we are now led to believe that social distancing is life or death. The technocrats motivated by profit and control herd us to only rely on the Internet for communications, transactions and information. Controlled by so very few companies, it appears to me this is the time to re-think and restart what kind of society we want.
My first thoughts are of people. So many hardships and loss upon a global community where boundaries are artificial. Transportation moves us around quickly. Ocean currents and the jet stream are nature’s way to get us conscious that what we do, and believe, affects many others.
In war there is no victory. In economic and political war there is a winner and loser. The BALANCE is missing. The attitude we use to expect in leaders and ourselves was “win/win.” Not winner takes all.
No wonder the planet’s water, air and soil is cleansing itself. Nature will restore balance if we help by learning from this virus event.
I wondered why travel, and initially the Internet, was so enriching. We got to see and feel the hearts and spirit of different cultures and life styles. There are poor families happier than billionaires. We got a taste of being “in the world of people and all living things.” Why are we now being brainwashed to fear our fellow beings? This transition does not seem natural to me.
The event of 9/11 tragically brought much of the world to grieve and show empathy for the lost lives and families impacted. Instead of building on this spiritually positive moment some leaders initiated a war. Not on a particular government, but focusing on a cultural, religious and geographical part of the world. There have always been violent acts by individuals and groups. But when an entire community is labeled as being likely terrorists, and we are shown pictures of their dress and locales, the motives for such fear mongering are suspect. One-day, the truth will be revealed.
Today the fear of other peoples has been expanded to everyone. Whoever coined the term “social distancing” and promoted its usage knew what they wanted. Author, George Orwell would be shocked by our current situation. Everyone is a threat. Only isolation and technology is the savior. Are we to accept that this is the new “religion”, the only “safe source” for our wellbeing? Will our lockdowns give us the needed pause to reflect on these concerns?
The toilet paper panic had me confused. Water and food are critical needs and essential. I’m not a yogi or guru so I sought some rational insight into this hoarding behavior. It was the yogi Sadhguru who was asked and responded to a similar question. Paraphrasing he said, “all fear resides in the groin, the lowest chakra.” He so clearly defined why the fear reaction/impulse spiked this mad bowel dash for carts filled with toilet paper.
Lee Harris, transformational leader, spoke in 2019 of a “perfect storm”
energetically brewing. Among others, he was intuitively right on target.
He urged his audience to prepare for this event with self-healing through, for example, meditation or prayer. I went back to Lee’s spiritlibrary.com last week as we stayed indoors and sought guidance on how to handle this isolation. Please take the time to hear his mid-March Energy Update on YouTube. Wonderful, practical advice that has helped me stay calmer and grounded.
As this column is written in advance of news updates, it is not necessarily reflective of events you are experiencing as you read this.
As our thoughts are powerful…so are prayers. Each morning the following prayer written by spiritual leader Marianne Williamson begins our new day:
Dear God,
As I wake up this morning, may Your spirit come upon me. May my mind receive Your emanations, my soul receive Your blessing, And my heart receive Your love. May all those I meet or even think of on this day feel better for it. May I contribute peace. May I serve your purposes with all I say and do, today and always. Please show me how. Amen.
Marlene
